Another excellent local musician, Freddie is currently in his third and final year as a Music undergraduate and choral scholar at Merton College, Oxford. While growing up in Gidleigh he sang as a chorister in Exeter Cathedral, voiced the TV and radio advertising campaign for Exeter’s new Princesshay development (2007) and, at the age of 13, performed the treble solo in Mendelssohn’s ‘Hear My Prayer’ with the Chagford Church Choir (2009). In Oxford, alongside his choral scholarship, Freddie sings on the Voces Academy Musical Leadership Programme, in jazz a cappella group The Oxford Gargoyles, and frequently on stage, recent roles including Luca in Walton’s The Bear (New Chamber Opera, March 2017), Maximilian in Bernstein’s Candide (Oxford Playhouse, November 2017) and Daddy Brubeck in Sweet Charity (Oxford Playhouse, February 2018).
Another talented musician not to be missed!
